The Independent Weekly news publication recently named Metrocon as one of the four finalists in the category of “Best Contractor in Wake County”. Nominations were anonymous to the nominees and the voting took place through the publication’s website. 

The Indy publishes the results of its readers’ picks for the “Best of” rating in several categories including restaurants, private schools, veterinary clinics, law firms and others in its first week of June issue each year.  This year, the event culminated in two local celebration events, one in Durham and another in Raleigh. Local artists providing entertainment were Spider Bags, Canine Heart Sounds, Clear Spots, Shirlette Ammons, Heads on Sticks and See Gulls.

While the process and the events are involved and sizable, not to mention well-known, the over-riding result is that finalists are publicly honored by being chosen by actual people living and working in the Triangle market place. Having the coveted designation speaks to being more than just credible entities, but excellent businesses with which to do business. Finalists are encouraged and are proud to display the coveted “Best of” star at their places of business and in their advertising.
